•Realize the benefits of the Morse taper connection (including the prevention of screw loosening)

•Learn the platform switch concept

•Be aware of the importance of the no micro movement/ no micro gap concept

•Discuss how to maintain papilla by utilizing the correct implants/ abutments

•Know how to restore a Morse taper implant

We are pleased to announce that our next study club, The Evolution of the Dental Implant Interface, will be held on Thursday, 10/25 at the Oaks Club, formerly TPC Valencia Golf Course. Dr. Molinari, who is esteemed in dental implantology will discuss the benefits and prosthetic workflow for the Grand Morse Taper Connection.

I am personally very excited about the grand Morse taper connection offered by Neodent. It is an extremely stable connection that not only prevents microleakage but also screw loosening. In fact, the restorative screw can be placed with only 20 ncm of torque compared with 35 ncm required by other systems. Eliminating micro leakage paired with a platform switch is a potent way to prevent marginal bone loss. There are obvious benefits to that for implant therapy in the anterior segment where maintaining soft tissue levels is critical to an esthetic outcome.

I know from past experience that even mentioning a new connection type can lead to restorative anxiety. However, I am excited to let you know that Neodent USA has offered to provide all participants of this study club a free restorative kit on your first case. Diana Yepes, our local rep will also be present to facilitate this offer and answer any questions. The componentry is very similar to what you have likely been doing all along.
