10/13/2011 Minimalistic Veneers using ETCHABLE CERAMIC RESTORATIONS

This presentation will feature the use of conservative techniques for anterior etchable ceramic restorations. Covered will be specific guidelines for when to use no preparation veneers, minimal preparation veneers (“MINI’S”), and more normal preparation veneers. Techniques will be detailed for using bonded functional esthetic prototypes (mock-up) techniques that motivates the patient to accept the proposed treatment and allows functional evaluation.  All clinical procedures and material selection and use will be gone over in great detail from design to final cementation. If tooth structure needs to be removed specific guidelines will be given on the amount of tooth structure to be removed and how to control reduction based on specific clinical situation.  Fabrication of prototypes (temporaries) and cements and cementation will also be covered in great detail.

This was a fantastic presentation and very well attended. The meeting was held on 10/13/2011 at the TPC Valencia country club. The participants were very appreciative of the quality of the venue and asked for a follow up lecture with Dr. McLaren. I am pleased to report that Dr. McLaren will speaking again at our next meeting on 2/09/2011. We are polling the previous participants for a follow up topic for this meeting. Some of the choices include:

    Adhesive and cement update

Ceramic selection: which system for which case

Smile analysis and digital smile design techniques

    Photography and shade analysis

Look for further details to come.
